The Battle Within

The bell has been sounded
The battle has began
The heart fights the mind
And it’s all so intertwined.

The heart says one thing
The mind says another
It seems like am gonna make another blunder.

I want to follow my heart
But the mind fights back
It seems my life is falling apart
It’s just losing track.

The path that my heart takes
Gives me pleasure and joy
But my mind seems to deny that
It all seems a ploy.

Maybe the heart might win
Or the mind will triumph
But it doesn’t make a difference
Coz either way am on the losing side.
